William Harry Warren Bicknell Art
American, 1860-1947
William Bicknell was born in Winchester, Massachusetts in 1860. He studied under Otto Grundmann and Frederic Crowinshield at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts. He was a member of the Copley School, Province Area Artists, Winchester Area Artists and the Chicago Sesquicentennial Exhibition. His work was exhibited at St. Louis Expo in 1904. Some of his work is in permanent collections, including the Memorial Art Gallery in Rochester, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the New York Public Library; and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Already as an adolescent Hermann Katelhön showed great interest in art and went on to be educated from 1903 to 1905 at the Kunstakademie of Karlsruhe, Germany. He then moved on to the Münchener Akademie to continue his studies under Peter Halm from 1906 bis 1907.
By 1919 Hermann Käthelhön had established himself and was well known for his numerous drawings, etchings and woodcuts of people and landscapes of the Schwalm in Willingshausen. He portrayed peasants with great care, was fascinated by the Willingshausen landscape and captivated by the motifs of field work.
