Leslie R. Center Art
American, 1933-2009
Leslie R. Center was born on November 10, 1933, in Houston, to Leslie and Katheryn Lee Center. He was a graduate of Mirabeau B. Lamar High School and earned a degree in architecture from Rice University in 1955. Center found his calling as an adjunct professor of drafting at Houston Community College. He was a member of Houston's Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, where he sang in the choir and served on the vestry. Center’s many passions included art, photography and classical music. He passed away at the age of 76 on November 21, 2009.
