Either in the Bern or Early Hitchcock Series. In the original thick wood frame and stretchers. The largest being offered from my collection-a very good size at- ( Frame: 48"H x 38.25"W - Art: 42"H x 32.5"W )
The early Hitchcock series began to show some of the dramatic shadow effects of this series but did not move to the solid-form objects of the later period. At the same time, it looks very close to several other Natkin paintings (including one very close example listed in this same category on 1st Dibs) identified as being from the "Bern" series. That one was painted in 1983. This piece shows some transitional elements in that the objects still show some of the crisscross technique that helps give texture to the various objects in the painting. This painting currently hangs in the middle of a 12-ft high By 12 ft wide Entry wall...
