About the Item

Antique miniature Passover Egg pendant made in Imperial Russia between the years 1898 - 1908. Body in Silver finished with White Pearl Enamel and is embellished with an old diamond - cut Blue Sapphire Ø 5.5 mm / ca.0.8 ct set in a silver bezel The piece is modeled in 84 or 88 zolotnik Silver, hanger parts modeled in 56 zolotnik Gold, hallmarked fragmented Russian Imperial 56 on the bail, assayers mark fragmented but still identifiable - ИВ / Иван Лебедкин / Ivan Lebedkin, appointed in 1889. Maker's hallmarks a bit fragmented " ИТ" of Иван Филиппович Тарабров / Ivan Tarabrov, owner of once famous workshop in Moscow that produced items of finest quality in Gold and Silver between 1893 -1913. Measures 23 mm including the hanger ring. The egg itself is 17 mm long x 11 mm at the widest. Weight: 5.35 grams Used fine condition, with one very minor chip on the enamel on the back side. Gemstones may often look differently in different light and weather conditions and time of the day, both indoors and outdoors. Stones of the rings photographed alone may look a bit differently when on hand because your finger makes the back side of the stone closed and light no longer can go through and the color becomes different. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described. Some buyers tried to make return of the items and to avoid paying shipping and restock expenses claimed that : " color is different from that on image .. " there are inclusions that I didn't notice " "it looks smaller than I expected" .. Unfortunately Internet sales do not allow us to see the items in person before we get them by post. We will not be responsible if in the process of resizing or customization any stone on the ring becomes loose , if any deformation occurs in general or if band of the ring changes shape or becomes deformed. Polishing of the band is always a final step of any resizing but machinery used for polishing causes vibration that old rings (with prongs for example ) often do not like at all. It is often difficult or impossible to get an accurate characteristics of the weight , color and nature of inclusions without removing the stones from the settings to be weighed and examined and doing that may damage the piece.
