About the Item
This catalogue covers the Brohan Museum hollowware collection of silver, pewter, brass, copper, stainless steel, nickel, aluminium and metal alloys such as nickelsilver, from the late nineteenth century and the first part of the twentieth century up to 1939. Flatware was not included, since this is the subject of another publication. There is an excellent inventory of artists from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Great britain, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Czech Republic and USA, the whole is finished off with artist's biographies and a bibliography. Some of the most well known sliversmith's are included such as - Georg Jensen, Jean Despres, Jean Puiforcat and Christopher Dresser to name but a few. This is a very informative and useful catalogue, 598 pages which are illustrated throughout - text in English.
