Small Colourful Chinese Porcelain Jar - JIangxi
About the Item
A vintage Chinese porcelain jar, signed on its underside with 'Jiangxi Chu Pin'.
The jar is adorned with a colourful 'Famille Rose' style decoration of two figural scenes, each depicting a mother/female and child. The first scene shows a mother and child seated beneath a tree, with the mother holding a flower. The second portrays a school setting involving two females. The symbolic decoration, which has been artistically expressed in an array of beautiful tones, is placed against a luminous backdrop of bright turquoise enamel, interspersed with delicate pink flowers.
This decorative Famille Rose piece was crafted in the Jiangxi region of China. The red hand-painted characters on its underside confirm that it dates back to the mid-20th century, around the 1950s, during the Republic era of China
The jar is missing its original lid, but does come in good condition otherwise.
