Lily Prince Art
American
Lily Prince has her B.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design, M.F.A. from Bard College and attended Skowhegan. Prince has exhibited widely nationally and internationally and was awarded commissions including the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and numerous hotels. Prince was awarded the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in painting in 2020.
Lily was Artist-in-Residence at Olana and was awarded residencies at Draftsmen’s Congress at The New Museum, NY; BAU Institute, Italy; and Galerie Huit, Arles, France. While recently on sabbatical, Prince worked en plein air in France, Italy, Ireland and the American west. Recently, she was interviewed for ArtSpiel magazine; Vasari 21; Zephyr Maize; and The Art Life on Radio Kingston.
Recent solo shows include Recurring Waves of Arrival, Littlejohn Contemporary, NYC, 2018; There There, Cross Contemporary Art, Saugerties, NY, 2019; and American Beauty, Thompson Giroux Gallery, Chatham, NY, fall 2021. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, NewYork magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, and New American Paintings, as well as in 2 books by Richard Klin, among numerous publications. Lectures include Yale, Vassar, Cornell, RISD, SVA, and Pratt. Prince is an associate professor at William Paterson University. She paints and lives in N.Y.’s Hudson Valley.(Biography provided by WoArt)

While visiting Chicago in the summer of 2019, Vidal was afforded a stunning view of the city from various vantage points. This bird's eye view is from the London House Hotel looking north up the famed Michigan Avenue capturing a portion of Chicago's iconic skyline. The loose, abstract brush strokes and warm color palette come together in this remarkable urban landscape painting. The bottom of the painting is marked with Vidal's signature - a series of numbers.
