Hannes Forster Art

German, b. 1955

Hannes Forster is a German artist. Forster graduated in 1979, from the College of Arts Berlin, where he was one of Herbert Kaufmann's master students. Already during his studies he dealt in depth with the connection between art and architecture and in 1982, won the second prize of a design competition for an open space in Berlin-Kreuzberg. In those years rubble was one of his favorite working materials. Later, he received further assignments and scholarships for construction-related art, where he built architectural models according to their plans. His works have been shown at numerous symposia and exhibitions since 1982. During his work, he developed the concept of converting the layouts of his three-dimensional brick installations as negative forms into graphite-painted wooden bodies.

"Gore Dark Warm Grey" Colored Pencil on Paper, organic neutral lines, op
By Amanda Andersen
Located in Hamburg, HH
One in a series of six drawings by Amanda Andersen created during an artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center in 2012. During this residency the artist explored ideas of flight while researching the invention and design of the hot air balloon. These drawings were the beginning of a larger group of work reflecting on the duality of the balloon as a symbol for romantic flight as well as a powerful tool of displacement. Here the artist was especially interested in the parts that make up a balloon canopy, the pieces of the pattern are called gores, similar in shape to a natural tree leaf. Specifically a gore is one panel–a segment of a hot air balloon envelope–six of these are sewn together to create a full balloon canopy, therefore six drawings are represented in this series. Without the conceptual background of the piece, it takes on the appearance of a simple organic shape. Minimal repeating pencil lines on neutral colored grey paper fill the gore...

Countably Infinite, 2022 by On Hansen Oil wax, acrylic, graphite, organic ink, and crayon on Awagami paper Image size: 35.03 in. H x 25.59 in. W Unframed ____________________________ On Hansen originally from Scandinavia is the pseudonym used by the photographer Cristian Hunter, a third-generation artist who has spent most of his professional career as a photographer. His work bears the traces of lived experiences, exploring the possibilities of formal abstraction, and seeking an organic experience between space and time through painting and photography. “There is no longer a single idea explaining everything, but an infinite number of essences giving meaning to an infinite number of objects. The world comes to a stop, but also lights up.” ― Albert Camus...
