About the Item
French school of the second half of the 18th century Oil on canvas 46 x 38 cm (57 x 49 cm with the frame) Very beautiful frame in gilded wood from the Louix XVI period with decoration of palmettes, pearls and gadroons Very good condition
It is probably a study for a character, perhaps an Italian, Florentine nobleman. The large red velvet hat reminds of the headdresses that were worn by men in portraits of certain bourgeois in Italy during the Renaissance period.
