About the Item
One of the most troubled productions ever, and widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all-time, "Apocalypse Now" was directed, produced and co-written by Francis Ford Coppola and released in 1979. Staring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Laurence Fishburne, Harrison Ford, and Dennis Hopper. Nominated for eight Academy Awards at the 52nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director (Coppola), and Best Supporting Actor for Duvall, it went on to win for Best Cinematography and Best Sound.
This extra-large piece features a particularly rare design depicting Colonel Kurtz's men at the entrance to their base is from the original 1979 release of the film in Italy. This shot in the film is the only time you see or hear the words "Apocalypse Now" throughout the film. This piece is in fantastic condition and a great bit of film history.
