Marie Burgos Design
In her acclaimed residential, hospitality and commercial interior design projects, designer Marie Burgos emphasizes harmony, comfort and sophisticated style. She looks for shapes, textures, and colors to enhance her clients’ lifestyles while adding new design dimensions to their homes. This is also the approach taken in the Marie Burgos Collection of carefully curated modern furniture, contemporary lighting, décor and art.
Born and raised in Paris, Marie draws inspiration from French design and her family’s native Martinique. With a deep love of mid-century modern furniture, Marie has taken the clean lines that defined that period and given them a luxurious new simplicity. Her use of Feng Shui, of which she is a certified master, always plays a role in bringing harmonious balance. The result is sophisticated, contemporary furnishings designed for today that playfully pays homage to the best of an earlier era.
From 23k gold and iron pendants to hand woven paper lamps, the lighting collection offers a world of aesthetic styles while embodying an ethos of beautiful balance. Exquisitely crafted lights anchor the collection, bringing together a unique selection of chandeliers, lamps, and sconces that are otherwise unavailable in the US market.
In addition to the collection, Marie and her team have completed dozens of homes, commercial and hospitality interiors for national and international clientele. Her critically acclaimed interior design firm has offices in NYC and LA.

In his lifetime, however, his then-unorthodox camera angles, which hindered prose descriptions of his works, prevented his work from gaining wider recognition, as well as his use of symbolism also became unfashionable later in his life. Born in Budapest, the son of a bookseller, Kertész taught himself how to use a camera and had his first photos published while a member of the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I. Even as early as 1914, his distinctive and mature style was already evident. Kertész emigrated to Paris in 1925, changed his first name from Andor, and became acquainted with members of the Dada movement. One of them dubbed him “Brother Seeing Eye”, an allusion to a medieval monastery where all the monks were blind except one.
