Art Deco Console Table with Green Glass Top

About the Item

We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Elegant and distinctive console table in Art Deco style; a green glass has been placed on the rectangular top; to obtain the color, a special film has been heat-applied to the bottom of the glass plate, which allows, when looking at the glass from the top, to enjoy the beautiful coloring. The structure is linear and essential, the two legs, which connect with the lower base, have a soft and sinuous line, which contrasts nicely with the design of the entire piece of furniture. The console has two hooks on the back so it can be fixed to the wall. The console table was made between 1950 and 1954, by a skilled master craftsman in a perfect and meticulous manner in the area of Lendinara, in the province of Rovigo (Italy) one of the most famous districts for furniture production in the Veneto region. Sapele, a prestigious reddish-colored wood similar to mahogany from Equatorial Africa, was used in the construction of the console table; this sophisticated material has a tight weave and interwoven fibers, fine and uniform and with a good natural luster. It is a sturdy, rather flexible, hard, and compact type of wood, usually used for luxury furniture and cabinetry, but also in the interior decoration of yachts and yachts as well as in sophisticated and expensive musical instruments. Our console table is a valuable and original piece of furniture, capable of creating calm and peaceful atmospheres, giving romanticism and sophistication to any kind of furniture. Measures width cm.81, depth cm.36, and height cm.85. The object has been treated by hand with ancient restoration techniques by our team of craftsmen and is in excellent condition. • Wrought Iron Italian Wall Console Table With Wooden Top
    Located in Prato, Tuscany
We kindly suggest that you read the whole description, as with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Elegant and refined Italian wrought iron wall console table; it has an exceptional curvilinear and slender design, aesthetically and symmetrically perfect. The upper-shaped top is made of excellent quality wood painted black; the few decorative elements are simple and rationally distributed. This model has the convenient feature of having to be fixed to the wall using two small perforated plates welded to the back edge of the console table (see photo), thus making the piece of furniture permanently solid and stable. The console table was created between 1930 and 1935 in an ironworking workshop in the Santo Spirito district of Florence, Tuscany, Italy. This part of the city has always been, since ancient times, the living and throbbing center of the city's craftsmanship. Florence was an important center for the manual production of wrought iron. The city has a long history of metalworking, dating back to the Renaissance. Florentine craftsmen were known for their intricate designs and high-quality ironwork, often used for furniture, gates, and architectural elements. In general, Italian wrought iron consoles have a rich history and are admired for their craftsmanship, elegance, and durability. The evolution of these pieces reflects broader trends in art, architecture, and interior design in Italy particularly in Tuscany. The use of wrought iron dates back to antiquity, but it was during the late medieval period that Italian blacksmiths began to perfect their skills, creating not only functional objects but also decorative artifacts, including furniture. The Renaissance (14th-17th centuries) marked an important period for art and craftsmanship in Italy. Wealthy patrons, inspired by classical antiquity, commissioned intricate wrought iron work for their homes and public buildings. Recall that Tuscany during the Renaissance was the world center for art, culture, science, and crafts. During the Baroque period (17th-18th centuries), wrought iron consoles became more extravagant, featuring bold and dramatic designs with heavy ornamentation. Neoclassicism (late 18th-early 19th century) brought a return to simplicity and classical inspiration; wrought iron furniture had decorative elements inspired by ancient Greece and Rome. From the 19th century to the early 20th century, a mix of styles was seen in ironwork, including the revival of earlier periods and the introduction of new trends such as Art Nouveau, with organic, flowing lines and patterns inspired by nature. In the 20th century, wrought iron console tables continued to evolve, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design principles. Mid-century modern styles (1920-1950) favored a more minimalist design, with simple, clean lines and functional forms. Wrought iron furniture could incorporate glass and wood. Italian wrought iron console tables were traditionally made by skilled blacksmiths using techniques passed down through generations. This involved heating the iron in forges and shaping it with a hammer and anvil. Italian wrought iron console tables are often considered functional works of art, serving practical purposes while serving as focal points in a room. This particular type of table is versatile and suits a variety of settings, from classic to contemporary. Antique wrought iron console tables...
