This glass sphere is inspired by one of the most captivating phenomena in the world: the northern lights. Green and blue hues arc through the northern darkness when the right conditions occur, and the lucky few who have experienced aurora borealis treasure the memory.
Stories abound about the northern lights, and the rich history of folklore and fairy tales about aurora borealis are almost as vivid as one’s first encounter with them. The only recognized indigenous peoples of Europe, called the Sami, live in the farthest reaches of Scandinavia. In their language, the northern lights are called "guovssahas" which means “the audible light.”
