Lamp by Osram Therapym, 1950s
About the Item
L'industria elettrotecnica nel periodo antecedente la prima guerra mondiale vide la diffusione delle lampade ad incandescenza. Dalla perfezione di questa invenzione, risalente all'Ottocento, nel 1905 Carl Auer von Welsbach inventò lampade con filo di Wolfram nel bulbo; a lui si deve anche l'invenzione del marchio OSRAM, ottenuto unendo i nomi scientifici di Osmium (OS) e Wolframio (RAM), i due elementi comunemente usati per la fabbricazione dei filamenti delle lampadine, in virtù della loro capacità di resistere all'incandescenza grazie alle altissime temperature di fusione da (3000 a 3400 )
Il 10 marzo 1906 viene quindi fondata la Deutsche Gasglühlicht-Anstalt, proprietaria dei diritti del marchio OSRAM, brevettato a Berlino il 17 aprile 1906 (con il numero 86924) per prodotti come "Elektrische Glüh- und Bogenlichtlampen". Nel 1919 Deutsche Gasglühlicht-Anstalt si fuse con Siemens & Halske e AEG: la società che ne nacque prese il nome di OSRAM Werke GmbH KG.
