Blue and white plate with deer in a landscape Delft, circa 1700

About the Item

Blue and white plate with deer in a landscape Delft, circa 1700 The plate has a narrow, flat flange and is painted in blue with a landscape with four deer between trees. Birds fly in the sky. The foliage of the trees is sponged. Dimensions: diameter 22,9 cm / 9.01 in. Provenance: Tavert collection, France Plates and dishes in which landscapes are painted in blue over the entire surface are mostly from the period around 1700. A landscape with only animals is rare. Condition: Rim chips typical for Dutch Delftware.
