Pink French Porcelain Crystalline Vase Mougin Nancy
About the Item
A crystalline-glazed porcelain vase, produced by the Mougin brothers circa 1910.
A sumptuous crystalline glaze covers this porcelain vase, made by the Frères Mougin around 1910. After studying ceramic techniques at Sèvres, Joseph Mougin joined brother Pierre in founding a kiln at Nancy. This crystalline porcelain vase was made before the war, the period which was the height of the brothers’ artistic production and which is categorized by elegant Art Nouveau forms.
“Here are the fired stonewares of the Mougin brothers, with pure curves and strange crystallization. Their laborious and often thankless research has been crowned with the most decisive successes and today they take pleasure in realizing productions that can compete with the rarest and most precious.”
