ABOUT
Andre-Vincent Becquerel(French, 1893 ~ 1981) Born at St. Andre-Farivilliers, he studied under Hector Lemaire and Prosper Lecourtier. He specialised in animal sculpture, showing a marked preference for predator, feline and ornithological subjects, which he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais from 1914 to 1922 and where he became a lifetime member.

On leaving the École des Beaux-Arts at the age of 22, he won first prize for a life-size panther sculpture and many other prizes and awards followed throughout his career.
