1980s Galanos Pin Stripe Wool Skirt Suit
About the Item
An incredible, mint condition Galanos pinstripe wool skirt suit with a pleated school girl mini and short structured jacket. James Galanos (1924–2016) was an American fashion designer known for his exquisite craftsmanship and elegant designs. He dressed many notable clients, including celebrities, socialites, and First Ladies such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Nancy Reagan.
The A-line pleated skirt of this set has smaller pleats in the front which disguise the middle zipper. There are two outside pocket flaps which are not real pockets. The back pleat is only one larger pleat. The skirt that *may have been altered at the waist, but could also have been custom made.
The jacket is collarless and closes with two buttons and one pop button and is lined in a silk satin. The label is only in the jacket and there are no composition labels. This has no flaws! It looks new and unworn.
