Darren and Trisha Inouye are the duo behind the collaborative experiment Giorgiko. This artistic endeavor conjures a universe of wayward adolescents who move through fantastical settings attempting to find their way home. Giorgiko draws on a range of artistic forebears, combining minimalist character designs with the compositional scale of Old Master paintings. The two met while studying at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena and combine their respective histories in design with other influences, including hip-hop and graffiti culture. Girogiko has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Amsterdam, Honolulu, and Hong Kong, among others. They are also the owners and co-directors of Rainbow Art, a visual arts school for both children and adults.
