About the Item

Hampton Dunes Dye Sublimation print on Metal Dye-sublimation printing is a computer printing technique which uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as a metal, plastic, card, paper, or fabric. The sublimation name was first applied because the dye was considered to make the transition between the solid and gas states without going through a liquid stage. Inquire about various sizing comes unframed A supermoon is a full moon or a new moon that nearly coincides with perigee—the closest that the Moon comes to the Earth in its elliptic orbit—resulting in a slightly larger-than-usual apparent size of the lunar disk as viewed from Earth. The technical name is a perigee syzygy (of the Earth–Moon–Sun system) or a full (or new) Moon around perigee. The term supermoon is astrological in origin and has no precise astronomical definition. The real association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but no such link has been found. About the artist: A computer programmer and Webmaster by trade, Paul describes himself as a fine art photographer and a “digital manipulator.” His keen vision captures ordinary details from daily life and transforms them into images of beauty and wit, filled with contrasting shapes and effects. Paul’s current series of abstract work focuses on macro images of nature combined with additional exposures of ice, snow, sand, and sky. These futuristic scenes, inspired by the writings of Kurt Vonnegut, offer a wry commentary on global warming and climate change. Paul’s work is printed on a variety of substrates including metal, paper, and canvas. His photography has been displayed in galleries such as Ashawagh Hall, Southampton Cultural Center, Water Mill Museum, East End Arts, Southold Historical Museum, Remsenburg Academy, Quogue Library, and Guild Hall. He also exhibits at Spectrum Miami as part of Art Basel, Miami. Paul has donated his time and images for fundraising for nature conservancy and animal rescue. He also currently serves as Vice President and Webmaster for the Southampton Artists Association.

Marianne Evelyn Gabriel Faithfull is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She achieved popularity in the 1960s with the release of her hit single "As Tears Go By" and became one of the lead female artists during the British Invasion in the United States. Singer Marianne Faithfull posing in just a basque, stockings and suspenders on her first shoot to launch her pop career, London 1964, taken the year she was discovered at a Rolling Stones record release party by manager Andrew Loog Oldham. At the time of the photo-shoot, Faithfull had just released her first single As Tears Go By written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Faithfull is most notorious for leaving her husband to be with lead rock singer Mick Jagger; together they were one of the top power couples of the 1960s. She was one of the greatest fashion icons of the 60s and best remembered for her relationship with the Rolling Stones than for her solo music career. Speaking of the 1964 shoot, O’Neill said: 'I wanted to make her look more sophisticated and glamorous. 'This shoot really took her out of her comfort zone, but I think anyone would agree she looks fantastic.' Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. From presidents to pop stars he has photographed the frontline of fame for over six decades. O’Neill began his career at the birth of the 1960s. While other photographers concentrated on earthquakes, wars and politics, O’Neill realized that youth culture was a breaking news story on a global scale and began chronicling the emerging faces of film, fashion and music who would go on to define the Swinging Sixties. By 1965 he was being commissioned by the biggest magazines and newspapers in the world. No other living photographer has embraced the span of fame, capturing the icons of our age from Winston Churchill to Nelson Mandela, from Frank Sinatra and Elvis to Amy Winehouse, from Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot to Nicole Kidman, as well as every James Bond from Sean Connery to Daniel Craig and many other of your favorite celerities, models and famous political figures, royalty and fashion iconic names in fashion. Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot is one of the most iconic French actresses and models in the world. She is one of the best known sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s and was widely referred to by her initials, B.B. With her heavy fringe, kohl-lined eyes, pouty lips and seductive curves, Brigitte Bardot captured the sixties bombshell zeitgeist. Like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, her image not only portrayed an era but an ideal that has remained indelibly imprinted in popular culture. This photo of French actress Brigitte Bardot in Spain, 1971 was taken on the set of 'Les Petroleuses' a.k.a. 'The Legend of Frenchie King', a western comedy film directed by Christian-Jaque.
