Red Farmhouse in a Vineyard - Horse in Rocky Meadow on Reverse Acrylic on Board (Two Sided)
Lush vineyard landscape by California Plein Aire artist Nick White (American, 1943-2009). A small red house sits beside a plot of grape vines. The leaves on the vines and some surrounding trees have turned yellow and orange, indicating that fall has arrived. Beyond the vineyard, there are lush green mountains receding into the distance row by row. On verso inverted is a beautiful Horse in a Rocky Meadow in the Sierras

Nick White (American, 1943-2009) began painting in the early 1970s with some early success> Later in life, White was a member (and board member) of the Los Gatos Art Association. He founded the Plein Air group, which he ran until 2009. He was a dedicated painter, leading many excursions regardless of group size. He preferred to paint in acrylic, as its quick-drying properties allowed him to “work fast and loose in the style of the early California impressionists.” Two of his painting were selected for the Fiesta de Artes Posters in 2004 and 2005.
