About the Item
An antique diamond and yellow gold ring, comprising one large old mine cut diamond, set in 18 karat yellow gold, to a band of 18 karat yellow gold.
This striking ring is set to the centre with a large old mine cut diamond. The diamond is arrestingly bright, white, and sparkly, and has excellent clarity, and good symmetry. The diamond is held within a claw setting, the style of which is known as a belcher setting, thought to be named as such after a famous boxer who wore such rings to hold his scarf in place. The chunky shoulders lead to a plain, polished band of yellow gold. This is a truly exquisite ring, set with a tremendously beautiful diamond. The ring is in great condition. The ring is in great condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The ring measures 8.2mm wide at the front, and the band measures 2mm wide at the back.
