A Vintage 'Eisenberg Ice' Sapphire Necklace. A spectacular example of the Ice pieces, so called as their designs focussed on emulating diamond jewellery. A collar of stones gives way to many droplets culminating in an impressive collar from the incredible house of Eisenberg. A rare and highly desirable find. The legendary American Couture Company Eisenberg was renowned for its use of Swarovski crystals, as well as superior craftsmanship and attention to detail. Not surprisingly then, Eisenberg & Sons was one of the most highly regarded costume jewellery manufacturers of the 1930s and 40s. Eisenberg & Sons began in 1914 as a women’s clothing company. The jewels serving simply as decoration for Eisenberg's clothing. And so when the jewels would vanish from the clothing Eisenberg worked out there was a real desire for their jewels, not only their clothing and so their jewellery line was born.
