Tadashi Nakayama Signed Limited Ed. Japanese Woodblock Print Girl with Flute 'B'
About the Item
An exceptionally large, complexly designed (note the subtle repeated butterfly design pattern in the background and to the right of the main subject - apparently the artist's daughter - echoing the brightly colored butterfly in her hair), beautiful work by esteemed Japanese artist printmaker Tadashi Nakayama. titled "Girl Playing the Flute (B)" (Furuto o fuku shojo) or sometimes "A Girl with the Flute (B)". This work features gold and silver leaf highlights and was completed using multiple blocks, colors, and stages of printing. This striking image is considered to be one of Nakayama's finest and most complex works and is quite rare and scarce.
The print is hand pencil signed, numbered (33/85), and dated (1982) by the artist.
Would be a great addition to any collectors of Nakayama's work or Japanese/Asian artwork or clearly be an eye-catching stand-alone accent piece in about any setting.

Sekino's works can be found in many museums including: The Museum of Modern Art, N. Y., the Art Institute Chicago, the Museum of fine Art, Boston, the British Museum, and the Portland Art Museum among many other fine museums throughout the world.
