About the Item

Original vintage tube map poster of The London Underground showing the Central Circle Piccadilly Victoria Northern District Metropolitan and Bakerloo lines, the Jubilee line under construction and the British Rail line with Exhibition Service only East London Section and Underground peaks only Main service BR lines, the list of tube stations with travel information in boxes below the colourful map on a grid background, the River Thames running behind the lines, the title above on the blue line border and the iconic roundel in red at the bottom. Opened in 1979 the Jubilee line is named after the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth in 1977 and connects Stratford with Stanmore, shown as a silver line on the map. Design by the London Transport railway planner Paul E Garbutt (1919-2008). Printed by Leonard Ripley and Co. Large size. Horizontal. Good condition, folds, creasing, tears.
