Signed in pencil "Wm Woodfield" on verso.
unframed image is distressed and has visible wrinkles and folds and three small areas touched up in black (see item condition). Image is unframed.
Believed to be an unpublished image as per sticker on original glass.
See last image. Original framing not included.
Image possibly take during the filming of "Something's Got to Give" an unfinished Marilyn Monroe feature film shot in 1962, directed by George Cukor for 20th Century Fox and starring Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin and Cyd Charisse.
William Read Woodfield:
His most noted work was a series of nude photos of Marilyn Monroe, taken on the set of her umcompleted film, Somethings Got to Give (1962).
"While Mr. Woodfield made a lucrative but relatively unknown career in screenwriting, he became most famous as a photographer. He took many portraits of film stars, such as Elizabeth Taylor and Jayne Mansfield, for such magazines as "Life", "Esquire" and "Playboy". His most noted work was a series of nude photos of Marilyn Monroe, taken on the set of her umcompleted film, Something's Got to Give (1962). In addition to writing and photography, Mr. Woodfield was an ardent magician. He acted as magic coordinator on the TV show, Mission: Impossible (1966), and founded the magic magazine, "Magicana".
