Fine Early 19th Century Academic Preparatory Drawing
About the Item
This very fine drawing in Sanguine is from the early 19th century. Made as a preparatory sketch concerning composition, musculature and shadow this work is unsigned but we have four drawings by the same hand purchased from a single owner sale. French in origin and on laid paper the work is an excellent example of the artist training creating a finished oil painting thru labored sketch work. The piece is well framed in good material and is very nicely French matted creating a complete and singular artistic impression.
