Robert Pansart Églomisé Glass Mirror Wall-Mounted Panels Set, Asian Character
About the Item
Robert Pansart (1909-1973) designed this stunning pair of églomisé mirrored glass wall-mounted panels in the 1940s. The panels feature an elongated shape with an Asian-inspired design (chinoiserie) with a man and a woman in traditional outfits surrounded by typical neoclassical decoration. Giltwood framing complements the eglomisé panels.
Excellent condition to the eglomise glass panels. Only the wood framings show signs of wear. Check the close-up.

Measurements in the item detail are for one panel.
Note: Robert Pansart (1909-1973) was a French glassmaker and decorator known for his etched, oxidized, and églomisé glass techniques. He mainly worked from the post-war years to the 1960s with his team of more than ten employees.
Pansart is well-known for his mirrors adorned with figures and arabesque decorations. He has also created many pieces of furniture in fantastic baroque shapes, evoking the world of fairy tales in a typical 1940s style.
He is, with Pierre Lardin and Max Ingrand, one of the most famous and talented glassmakers of the 1940s. André Grozdanovich was his principal collaborator, designer, designer, and decorator. Together, they cooperated during the last two decades of the workshop.
In addition, the company worked with independent designers like Serge Roche, Lucie Dolt, and Marc du Plantier.
The workshop also produced glass table tops for Gilbert Poillerat and Raymond Subes, famous French ironworkers.
