J.R.Salter Shop Sign
About the Item
A huge and engaging Victorian drapers shop sign.
An English, pine billboard displaying a beautifully hand painted sign writing in a fancy cursive font. Finished in greens with lighter green hues, set off with honey and black detailing which has now aged to the most perfect patina with a flaking and crackled aesthetic, dating to the mid 19th century, circa 1850.
Framed with a profiled ogee moulding encasing the name plate reading 'Drapers J.R. Salter Milliner'. Set off at both ends with an original pair of imposing structural corbels.
This 'survivor' is something to behold and when positioned in its new home, will be a showcase feature wherever it lands.
