Atelier Le Traon
A hand weaver in Paris, France, Mathieu Le Traon created his studio in 2019, driven by the desire to give back to luxury a personal and intimate dimension, a dimension that reconnects us to our inner self and anchors us in the world. Mathieu Le Traon creates and weaves by hand rare textiles carrying a secret poetry and endowed with a soul of their very own, to which the weaver’s hand has transmitted a substance, a specific vibration. Inspired by stories, landscapes, music..., Mathieu Le Traon's handwoven, one-of-a-kind creations explore the poetic and sensory potential of exceptional animal fibers (cashmere, vicuña, yak, rare wools...), rich with an infinite palette of sensations. As a private weaver, Mathieu Le Traon helps interior designers bring exclusivity and personnality to their clients' home or hospitality venues; he creates precious luxury textiles for brands' VVIP customers' gifting experience; he offers individual clients bespoke services for the creation of symbolic, heirloom textiles. Encouraged by his winning the Young Talents 2020 prize from the Paris Region Chamber of Crafts, by his selection as a finalist for the Grand Prix de la Création of the City of Paris in 2021, and by his selection as one of the artists invited to revisit a piece of furniture for the Mobilier national in 2022, Mathieu Le Traon dedicates his work to the rediscovery of the expressive and emotional richness of a thousand-year-old craft.

- Hand Woven Wall Panel - Merino & Yak - "Across The Universe" by Atelier Le TraonBy Atelier Le TraonLocated in PARIS, FRThis one-of-a-kind textile creation is a hand woven transcription of music, a signature feature of Atelier Le Traon’s textile art. Each color represents a note; lines and columns adopt the rhythms of the composition: the fabric has become a music score… Woven with a soft and luxurious blend of geelong merino wool and yak down, this both graphic and tactile panel takes its design form the melody of “Across The Universe”, one of the Beatles' most beautiful songs. In its width, the panel unrolls the melody of the mantra "Jai Guru Deva Om" at the heart of the song. In its length, it unrolls the melody carrying the following lyrics: “ Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting // Through my opened mind // Possessing and caressing me...” . .
