A scarce Burmantofts Faience Bacchanalian tile of rectangular form modelled in relief with figures attending to a resting man set within a raised stepped edge and decorated in green glazes. Incised Burmantofts marks along with Wilcock & Co Leeds mark and old part paper label to the base.
Literature: Fired Earth 1000 Years of Tiles in Europe, TACS, page 116 cat. no.282 for a comparable tile.
