Les Fleurs du Mal, Georges Rouault, 1933 Lithograph by Georges Rouault, great french expressionnist painter of the french Paris School (with Modigliani, Picasso, Braque, Matisse...). This lithograph is an illustration for Charles Baudelaire's Fleurs du Mal, in a luxury edition by the famous publiser and art dealer Ambroise Vollard. It depicts two women, one combing the hair of the other. This composition is reminiscent of some orientalist paintings by Ingres, Delacroix and Chassériau, like The Toilet of Esther (Louvre Museum). Dimensions of the subject : 208 x 300 mm. Full margins. Very good condition. Georges Rouault's work is in every great museum, like MoMA in New York, Centre Pompidou in Paris, and Tate in London.
