A new grapheme that marks the evolution of this line and allows Forma&Cemento to continue with the drafting of a real concrete alphabet. Each coffee table is made through the extrusion of a two-dimensional shape into which the concrete is poured. Each unique and recognizable "sign" materializes in a piece of furniture full of meaning. Forma&Cemento products are handcrafted in high performance cement mortar! Our production process is completely artisanal and for this reason each piece is unique and no two are alike. This process helps with major cracking, long-term moisture issues, and bugs. Eco Friendly In an effort to replenish the trees we use, we plant 50+ trees a year. In addition, we practice salvage logging. Where do we source these? Some of the trees fall naturally. Some have damage from severe wind, lightning, flood, disease, or other natural disturbance so they need to be cut and removed before they fall. Others are fresh cut because people want them off their land. Salvage logging may reduce erosion, reduce intensity of future wildfires, and slow buildup of pest insects. After over two decades of dedicated work, he has mastered the minimalism of the Shaker technique and created his own unique visual vernacular. The quilts of Gee's Bend have become a monumental influence taking this artist's work to new levels of unique interpretation and artistry. His selection of aged steel results in a patina directly related to that of aged wood while his colored strips beautifully mimic worn cloth.
