18th Century Oak Monastery Refectory Table

About the Item

A substantial and very handsome monastery refectory table meticulously crafted from solid oak, and featuring the traditional trestle underframe and stretcher. The Louis XIII style table has a wonderful, authentic patina, gained from generations of practical use. Who knows what fascinating conversations have taken place around it? The artisanal construction showcases a thick and durable tabletop, crafted from wide planks in a tiled formation of six enclosed panels, as well as shaped and carved feet. The lower stretcher doubles as a comfortable foot rest. An ideal modern kitchen dining table, as well as a timeless testament to 18th century craftsmanship.
