Dutch Marquetry Card Table
About the Item
A good Dutch walnut pad foot card table with attractive marquetry inlay of birds and flowers; both back legs hinge on a knuckle joint to support the table when open, the interior with counter wells and inlaid with the four card suits. Oak-lined drawer and good original colour and patina. The card table would appear to be mid 18th century, but it is thought that marquetry was often added in the 19th century.
