Dressing table in fine walnut-feather; the vanity table is finished on four sides so that it can be placed on the wall or placed in the middle of the room to enjoy its aesthetics even at 360 °; the upper part, linear and uniform, is supported by two elegant supports separated from each other by a crossbar, everything is made with a refined and sophisticated pod processing; but the beauty of the toilet and the number of potential uses, can be appreciated when we lift the upper mobile top: this is provided inside a mirror, and, through metal support, can be stopped in a vertical position; we also discover that, by lowering the hinged front part, it is possible to use the large side drawers; on the left side of the dressing table we can also lower a practical shelf; many features to make the vanity table practical, comfortable and rational (you can follow these operations in the succession of photos). The piece of furniture was made in England between 1848 and 1850 with walnut-burr, a portion of very fine solid wood, characterized by an elegant natural design with feather-like spots, is the excellent part of the tree that is obtained by cutting the trunk lengthwise at the point where it forks into two branches; the toilet was treated with natural products and methods used in the English artisan workshops of the 1800s, even the polishing was carried out with a cotton swab soaked in shellac and straw oil with pumice stone powder, an ancient and manual technique of the 1700s; the final glossy wick protection gives a warm appearance, enhancing the colors and veins of walnut. The craftsmen who have worked on this dressing table have managed to create an extraordinary piece of furniture, refined and exciting, which by virtue of its extreme elegance and its soft romantic line, make it extremely versatile and easy to place in any environment. - Louis Philippe Style Feather Walnut Coffee Table With Tripod North ItalyLocated in Prato, TuscanyWe kindly suggest you read the whole description, because with it we try to give you detailed technical and historical information to guarantee the authenticity of our objects. Elegant round coffee table from northern Italy with "orange slice" veneered with walnut-feather; the central stem of the tripod is in hexagonal solid wood; the three final supports, always in solid wood, are shaped and well whittled with simple and rigorous lines; at the center of the table, there is a delicate and refined inlay reproducing a rose, made by hand with soft precious woods, the two peripheral circles of the top are always inlaid. The most interesting and compelling feature of this table is the workmanship with which it was made: the " wood veneer"( Attention. The exact term is Italian "lastronatura" untranslatable in English, in fact, the "lastronatura" is very different and older than “wood veneer”. Read explanation later). The”lastronatura” is an artisan technique that spread already during the sixteenth century and remained unchanged until the mid-nineteenth century before the Industrial Revolution; it consisted of hand-cutting the trunks of noble wood (walnut, mahogany, briar, walnut-feather, etc.) with ancient saws in so many layers with thicknesses ranging from 4 to 6 millimeters, which were then applied to furniture for decorative purposes; the finishing of this procedure was very complex: the wood layer was treated with natural earth dissolved in water for the desired shade, it was aged with stone, fixed with shellac applied with a brush and finally polishing was performed in 12 steps...Category
