1930'S Axel Larsson Swedish Grace Style Dresser in Birch Wood
About the Item
Axel Larsson birch chest of 2 drawers with ornaments in carved wood simulating metal for Svenska Möbelfabriken Bodafors. Sweden, 1930s. Perfect restored condition.
It belongs to the ''Swedish grace'' period which embraces elegance and simplicity, although the designs are very detailed and decorated with ancient motifs. Combining Neo Classicism with Art Deco to create a new and unique style. Prior to the more famous, minimalist Swedish designs that were to develop in the post-war period, Swedish Grace developed in parallel with the more famous Art Deco movement.
