Pierre Jeanneret Demountable Armchair Model PJ-SI-07-A

About the Item

One of the earliest and rarest chairs from the Chandigarh project, model PJ-SI-07-A, This chair is one of the first creations of Pierre Jeanneret when he arrived in Chandigarh. He used it for himself and for his collaborators. The design is inspired by the Indian porch swings Jeanneret encountered in Chandigarh in the early 1950s. This particular example is in beautiful vintage condition. Please reach out with any questions. This chair model can be found at the City Museum, Chandigarh; Another example is in the permanent collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
