Set of 2 Model 141 Lounge Chairs by Joseph Andre Motte for Artifort, 1950's

About the Item

This rare model 141 lounge chair was designed by Joseph-André Motte for Steiner (in France) in the 1950's. It was produced, under licence, by Dutch furniture manufacturer Artifort from 1955. Artifort is most famous for the designs made by another French interior designer, Pierre Paulin. Joseph André Motte was a French furniture and interior designer who was one of the most influential and innovative figures that influenced post-war French design. The chairs are both in a very good condition, with smaller signs of age and use. The set has been reupholstered some years ago in a high quality 'Nevada 02' fabric from De Ploeg; a fur-woven fabric in wool. This fabric has won the innovation award 2012. The yarns in these color effects create a beautiful effect. Seat depth: 45 cm.
