About the Item
Pair of stacking cafe chairs, all original. Designed by Xavier Pauchard and Joseph Mathieu. According to: "100 Masterpieces from the Vitra Museum Collection" (1996)- the discussion about these chairs says they were manufactured by 'Societe Industriella des Meubles Multiples, Lyon, France. And noted as a very early example of chair stacking. Our group has beautifully weathered soft red surfaces in the original paint and colored caning. Rare in untouched condition.
