A very rare Danish modern chair in teak by Herbert Hirche for Jofa Stalmobler, circa 1950s. The chair was made in Denmark of thick plywood with teak veneer; the base is black painted tubular steel. The piece is structurally sound and sits great!

Herbert Hirche
Herbert Hirche was a Bauhaus student from 1930–33, his teacher being Mies van der Rohe. Afterward, Hirche worked in van der Rohe’s office and later with Egon Eiermann. He continued as a professor at the State Academy of Fine Art in Stuttgart.
