Peg Lev Armchair, Michel Arnoult, 1968, Midcentury Brazilian
About the Item
Michel Arnoult (1922-2005) defended that good design should be accessible to everyone. To this end, he has always invested in industrial and assembly processes that could lower the cost of products.
In 1955, Arnoult founded Mobília Contemporânea, where he developed different furniture models investing in industrial and assembly processes that could lower the cost of production. The Peg-Lev armchair was created in 1968 as a line of removable furniture, followed by other pieces with the same logic. In this way, the customer could buy the parts inside a small box and assemble them at home.
This piece is in very good vintage condition, with gorgeous antique leather aged by time.

- Vintage Rosewood Armchair by Celina Decorações, Brazilian Midcentury, 1960sBy Celina DecoracoesLocated in New York, NYThis armchair is made of solid Brazilian Rosewood, with new upholstery in gorgeous suede leather. The armrests have a rectangular design with a back of vertical slats. This model features a delicate and still well-constructed use of this precious wood, which became very scarce with the passage of the years. This piece received new upholstery in soft nubuck leather, but its structure in solid Rosewood remais in original condition. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the Celina Decorações factory imposed high-quality standards, maintaining handcrafted characteristics. The company was created in 1951 when Munis Zilberberg takes over the family business - a small upholstery workshop that worked on refurbishing sofa beds and antique furniture.
