Pair of Armchair Warren McArthur Rare Model with Hidden Ashtrays

About the Item

A pair of metal armchairs designed by Warren McArthur (1885-1961) and made by Warren McArthur Corporation for Chrysler headquarter in Chicago between 1946-1948. These chairs feature spun aluminum metal frame, simple and chic with an industrial flair. They exemplify the practical beauty of American Bauhaus and Art Deco influence. The model is uncommon and features pull-out ashtrays hidden within each arm.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Structurally sound. Minor bends to stretchers. Surface scratches to frames from age and use. Upholstery is clean and free of tears but with some wrinkles as shown, and foam is good.
