Contemporary Art Rug in New Zealand Wool "Libertad"
About the Item
This contemporary art rug is made of premium New Zealand wool, woven by Odabashian's network of family-owned weavers near Mirzapur, India. The design was created by Mexican designer Benito Cabañas for the 2011 exhibition "Tapetes, Tejiendo Historias" at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico City.
Benito Cabañas is one of Mexico’s most prominent graphic designers. Based in the beautiful colonial city of Puebla, he graduated from the Universidad de las Americas Puebla. Recipient of the Quorum Prize (1999-2000), Coup de Coeur for participation with Anatome, A creative agency from Marselles, FR. He has honorable mentions in the Triennale Internationale de l'affiche politique in Mons, Belgium. He has numerous other prizes including works in Paris, Ukraine, Rumania, Chile Argentina and Costa Rica. His work has exhibited individually in over 14 cities in Mexico as well as Marselle, Fr. (2004), Mar de Plata, Ar. (2006), Bucharest, Ru. (2007), Santiago, Ch. (2007), San José, CR (2007), Cluj Napoca, Ru. (2009), Valencia, Es.(2009).
