Chrome and Walnut Art Deco Magazine Rack by Fred D. Farr for Revere
About the Item
A chrome and walnut Art Deco magazine rack by Fred D. Farr for Revere, circa 1930s. This spring design concept was first used by Farr in his hugely successful range of bookends for Revere. This piece is one of the original magazine versions issued with a walnut handle and base. Later editions included a more stylized all-chrome version with a ring handle and black or red octagonal bakelite editions. This design is often mistakenly attributed to Norman Bel Geddes. The rack retains its original chrome plating and walnut base and handle; it is in very good vintage condition with a fine patina, some light oxidation and some surface scratches. The piece measures 12" W x 6" D x 17.5" H and is unmarked. It would make a great deco edition to any space! #2497.
