About the Item
Rare and hard to find Luggage trainrack designed by the Belgium designer Henry van de Velde in the 1930s. This exquisite piece of furniture combines functionality with timeless elegance, making it a must-have addition to any home or office space. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this luggage rack showcases the iconic Art Nouveau and Art Deco style, characterized by its flowing lines and organic form. Made of solid wood and chromed metal for the K1 Belgian NMBS train. The interiors of the K1 trains from 1935 were completely designed by Henry Van de Velde (1863-1957). Many people know Van de Velde mainly as a famous architect, but he was also an artistic advisor at the NMBS from 1932 to 1939. He designed various carriages and motor units, including this luggage rack. The train bench with rack are included in the collection of the Design Museum Ghent. Made from high-quality materials, this railway luggage rack is built to last. The combination of a solid construction in chromed metal with solid wood and its elegant design ensures both durability and aesthetic appeal. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of this piece. Enhance your space with this exclusive piece, a true testament to the timeless beauty of Henry van de Velde's design.
