About the Item
Lovely Scandinavian design brooch/pin with four dangles of silver and wood. A special vintage brooch by Norwegian silversmith Anna Greta Eker. Manufacturer: Plus Norway, 1960s.
This wonderful vintage brooch has double layer floors with strands of brown wooden beads. Well marked with her champion stamp AGE, ND (Nordic design) Norway design, Plus, Sterling 925s.
Measures: Length 13 cm., width 3.8 cm. Weight 19.1 grams.
Anna Greta Eker was born in Mariehamn, Finland 1926 and moved to Norway in the 1950s where she married Erling Christofferson, leader of Plus in Fredrikstad. Plus operated from 1958-1978 and was an artist colony of designers. They were renowned for its quality and superb Scandinavian Modern design.
Anna Greta Eker was an important midcentury designer of the 1960s and a key figure in the Plus organization.
