Pontormo E Rosso Fiorentino Divergenti Vie Della "Maniera" Catalogo Mostra

About the Item

Pontormo e Rosso Fiorentino " Divergenti Vie Della "Maniera". Falciani Caro e Natali Antonio a cura di, 1st Ed softcover Exhibition Catalog. Published to accompany an exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi, Florence, March 8th - July 20th 2014. In 1956, Palazzo Strozzi hosted the exhibition Pontormo and Early Florentine Mannerism, in which Pontormo's work was displayed alongside that of Rosso Fiorentino, Beccafumi and other adepts of the new and unconventional trend in painting. Almost sixty years later, Palazzo Strozzi has decided to hold an exhibition devoted to only two of that movement's leading lights, Pontormo and Rosso Fiordentino. In exploring the work of the two greatest Florentine exponents of what 20th-century critics christened Mannerism, the exhibition and this accompanying volume aim to track the chronological development of the movement. Includes essays by: Philippe Costamagna, Elizabeth Cropper, Carlo Falciani, Massimo Firpo, Tommaso Mozzati, Antonio Natali, Alessandro Nova, Massimiliano Rossi, and entries by Grazia Badino, Andrea Baldinotti, Elena Capretti, Philippe Costamagna, Francesca De Luca, Carlo Falciani, Giovanni Maria Fara, David Franklin, Cristina Gelli, Antonio Geremicca, Giovanna Giusti, Sefy Hendler, Andrea Muzzi and Carol Plazzotta. Italian text. • GUFRAMINI Pratone by Ceretti, Derossi & Rosso
By Riccardo Rosso, Piero Derossi and Giorgio Ceretti, Gufram Furniture
    Located in La Morra, Cuneo
The mini Pratone® plays with the juxtaposition of a "large-small" proportion by reducing to 7/8 the giant Pratone that was designed in 1972 by Ceretti, Derossi, and Rosso, and exhibited that year at the MoMA as part of the Italy: The New Domestic Landscape exhibition. Just like the original version, the base of the "mini" sculpture shows the writing ‘Pratone’ on one of the sides, and 42 soft stems stretching in different directions complete the radical look of this little icon. As if in a fairy tale, the Gufram icons have become smaller and have now turned into Guframini®! The most radical Italian design...
