Metal Table Lamp by Baltensweiler, Switzerland - 1960
About the Item
Chrome-plated brass, lacquered iron, anodized and lacquered aluminium, one E 27 light point, pressure switch concealed under cap on shade holder.
In good original condition
Special features: with slight signs of use. In addition to perfect workmanship, especially the joints, the pressure switch is an unusual solution, concealed under the light gray plastic cover on the cylinder of the shade holder.
Rico and Rosemarie Baltensweiler have been designing and producing lamps in their manufactory in Ebikon, Switzerland since the 1950s. This rare clamp lamp shows much of what BALTENSWEILER stood for at that time: perfect workmanship with the best function, designed with cool elegance. The model is easily imaginable as a prop in the villain's office in historical James Bond films. Thanks to the arrangement of 2 tilt and 2 swivel joints, the luminaire can be moved safely into almost any position and only shines where required.
