Kai Ruokonen 'Finnmark' Table Lamp for the Vaakuna Hotel, Orno, 1970s
About the Item
This lamp was designed by Kai Ruokonen, originally for the Vaakuna Hotel in Helsinki in the 1970s. The same model was also used later in the Palace Hotel Helsinki. A very simple yet elegant heavy duty lamp in full brass with a beautiful patina. There is something magical about the coldness of brass and the warmth of the light filtering through the shade. All good designers seemed to recognize that in their lighting fixtures.
Signs of normal wear and use. The lamp is stamped Orno.
